Port of Melbourne Corporation has identified the Webb Dock precinct for meeting future demands for container services. KBR prepared functional and preliminary designs and the master plan for development, which is estimated to cost $1.7 billion. KBR’s services included environmental and planning advice, assessment of throughput capacity for the berths and terminals, and investigating operational issues, in particular options for land-side road and rail transport and for meeting the increased power requirements of the post-Panamax container trade.
