KBR provided design services to a contractor as an alternative bid to a traditional construction-only tender for reconstruction of Portarlington Pier. The alternative bid was pursued due to there being opportunity for applying a more efficient design that comprised less piling and longer spans. KBR’s services included metocean analysis and structural design of a concrete pier structure of approximately 300 m length.
