Sureside was engaged by parks victoria to undertake a condition assessment for rye pier. parks Victoria were aware that the structure was generally in deteriorated condition and was in the process of securing funding for reconstruction. when it became apparent that funding for reconstruction would not be available they required identification of critically deteriorated components to replace in order to remain safe for continued use over the approaching busy summer period. parks victoria were proposing restrictions to use in order to maintain tee assets function whilst approaching the end of its serviceable life.

sureside provided assessment services with the express objective of identifying components that required replacement in order to support sparse pedestrian use. sureside undertook visual inpsection from deck level and from water. a memorandum was prepared identifying specific elements that required inspection.
