expert
expert capability requires an individual to have exceptional comtemporary knowledge of the subject matter and substantial experience such that an individual’s knowledge indicatively lies within the top 5% of individuals meeting competency criteria.
specialist
specialist capability requires an individual to have good comtemporary knowledge and significant historical knowledge of the subject matter and substantial experience such that knowledge indicatively lies within the top 15% of individuals meeting competency criteria.
experienced
experienced capability requires an individual to have minimal comtemporary knowledge and good historical knowledge of the subject matter and reasonable experience such that knowledge indicatively lies within the top 60% of individuals meeting competency criteria. an individual shall have sufficient familiarity with the subject matter to require minimal time for re-familiarisation with requirements for day-to-day tasks.
experienced persons should only undertake verification and peer/review for low risk tasks. in most cases, additional supervision would be required for these higher-level tasks.
competent
Competent capability requires an individual to have minimal comtemporary knowledge and minimal historical knowledge of the subject matter and experience of successful application. an individual may require a substantial amount of time to refamiliarise with requirements for the task but has sufficient fundamental experience and skill to successfully complete day-to-day tasks.
